The Office of the Attorney-General on Monday deferred until Dec 24 a decision on legal action against People's Alliance for Democacy leaders for the 193-day seizure of Government House last year.

In this case, Sondhi Limthongkul, Maj-Gen Chamlong Srimuang, Pibhop Dhongchai, Somsak Kosaisuk, Somkiat Pongpaiboon, Suriyasai Katasila, Chaiwat Sinsuwong, Amorn Amornratananont and Therdphum Jaidee have been charged with illegal assembly causing a public disturbance and inciting unrest unde Articles 116, 215 and 216 of the Criminal Code.

Kaiyasit Pisawongprakarn, director-general of the Criminal Litigation Department, said the decision was postponed because more witnesses have to be questioned as requested by the suspects.

I'm with everyone here but this is only a decision on laying charges not on the guilt or innocence. Even if Santa comes a day early and the AG lays charges it could be years before this even goes to trial

I am hoping that they will not give the PAD leaders the Christmas present on Dec24 by acquitting them but rather, give them the justice they deserved by putting them behind bars. this would be the best Christmas present for Thailand.

I won't be a wee bit surprise if the Abhisit govt decided to let all of the PAD go free and declare...since "It's Christmas"...let's have a little X'mas spirit and forgive and forget...

He is the govt and can do anything he wants...can The People of Thailand do something before he puts the country backwards by a couple of decades?

What justice is there left in Thailand?? The PPP & TRT are prosecuted so swiftly but the leaders from PAD which took the whole country hostage and witness by the world, needs more witness to ascertian their crimes (how absurd). Can't blame them, or else how the current Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva got into power.

At the same time as Kun Abhisit are sure that his "Democrat" can win a new election on their own, and and without the assistance of PAD? So get this criminal where they belong. Let a family friend of the Ministry of Industry make new Ballet boxes, by so four time the prize, and all will very much look forward to the election result.

    It's just sooooooo predictable.

Cases involving the Democrats, PAD and their supporters are continuously delayed where as cases against their opponents are dealt with relatively swiftly.

The courts cases against Somak and the PPP raced few the courts in a matter of weeks where as cases like the ones involving the PAD or the Democrats (250,000,000THB of illegal party contributions) are forever being deferred.

As 'ThailandAtoZ' highlights none of the accused deny involvement and as for seeking more evidence or witnesses I would like to draw the court's attention to a little known invention called the internet.........

Here you can find reports from 'new and unreliable' sources such as Reuters, AP, AFP, CNN, BBC, ABC, CBC. Read online reports from such 'questionable' newspapers as the New York Times, Washington Post, The Times of London, The Age, The South Morning China Post etc.

If of course this proves to difficult, let me introduce them to YouTube, Facebook, Myspace, Metacafe et al that have hours of online video showing exactly what the PAD did to this great country........

Ok then welcome to Computers101, turn on your compuetr, press the big blue E button, type in www......................

Why set a date? Everybody knows the agenda of the Office of the Attorney-General & the Powers. Why not 'defer' the case indefinitely. We, the People, are not that backward (anymore)...
