Red-shirt wants Thaksin to lead rallies

The leader of Kon Rak Udon (Love Udon People) group, Kwanchai Praiphana, said on Friday morning that he has asked former premier Thaksin Shinawatra to lead the red-shirts’ demonstrations against the Abhisit government next month.

“I told him to take his personal jet to Vientiane in Laos and the red-shirts in Udon Thani will go to welcome him at the nearby Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge” Mr Kwanchai said on his  programme on an Udon Thani radio station.

“I proposed to Thaklsin that a command centre be set up in Udon Thani where red-shirts from all provinces in the Northeast to gather, and after that he must lead his supporters to Bangkok to topple the government and the bureaucrats,” he said.

“The former premier told me that he would give me a call if he comes to any country near Thailand so that I can go to meet him.”

Lets have some fun, Thaksin to lead UDD rallies, nothing new. Is Mr. innocent Thaksin not already president of the red shirts, telling them what to say and do, supporting them with lots of money.
Mr. 1000 per cent Thaksin to visit his friends in Cambodia, Burma and Laos, lots of thai criminals living in these countries. This is what he likes Thailand to be in the future, a one party state, like the communist countries. The Government with his all friends only, making lots of profit.

Mr. Thanksin does not need to cross the Lao-Thai Mekong Bridge.. He can fly diectly by his own jet to Udon from Cambodia where he has a house offered there...

Laotians are peace loving people.. and we do not need to be taken into any conflict.

    Thanks.

An interesting ploy. What would happen if Thaksin actually took the offer?

So far, bleating from Suthep, denials of impact from Abhisit, and denigration from the Democrat party spokesman all ring kind of hollow. The national agenda, which for 3 1/2 years has focused on Thaksin, has been completely and utterly controlled by him now.

In case the 18000 troops in Hua Hin and another 9000 in Bangkok during ASEAN weren't sufficient to convince everyone that the political situation in Thailand is far from stable, Gen. Chavalit's bombshell assured that anything this government could think of crowing about would fall by the wayside.

Pattani City was the agenda of the week, until Hun Sen tossed a pie into the face of the clowns in Bangkok...who, predictably, responded with righteous indignation fueled by the hubris of their own egos.

The Japan-Mekong forum now becomes another international stage for the circus of internal Thai politics to play itself on.

Next up, the road show includes a curtain call for Thailand's ASEAN leadership in Indonesia. As is becoming habitual, this appearance will be overshadowed by Pattani City, with offers from the Malaysian and Indonesian governments to help end the armed struggle and senseless killings, and repeated statements from Thai officials about it being an internal problem that they can solve themselves (though no one except Gen. Chavalit has said how that might be accomplished). Mark will once again be reduced to the photo op with Obama (maybe a bit closer than the end of the back row as in Pittsburgh).

If Thailand is lucky, the international press won't start drawing comparisons to Indonesia's current very vocal and public calls for an end to endemic, institutionalized corruption and its own issues.

And to finish it off, we have the UDD's "million man march". Another implementation of the ISA, for sure, to be followed by another peaceful rally.

The only thing this government is capable of doing is "backtrack and respond." They lost control of the national agenda, and of the national political discourse. And they've demonstrated how completely inept they are, even with the backing of troops and tanks, at shaping their responses to regain control.

But if Thaksin takes up the offer of Kon Rak Udorn, and leads the red-shirted masses on a peaceful march into Bangkok from the Northeast, what kind of reaction will we see from the Kleptocrats and their green, yellow, and blue-shirted supporters?

I suppose you could say it's up to Thaksin to avoid creating any instability. But that only means that the reaction from the other side is guaranteeed to be predictable and violent. Is there no one on that side who is willing to put the interests of the nation above their own vested interests in power, and seek an alternative solution?

    Land of Sadness, Amusing Thailand!

The fugitive Thaksin is not only a criminal on the run but now he is a traitor to his own country by siding with a known dictator and killer, who knows what state secrets he will tell Cambodia now that he is on their side, just goes to prove one thing...Thaksin is all about himself and nobody else, what a gutless creep and to use the country's poor people to fight for him, the man has absolutely no scruples at all.

I really pity to Kwanchai Praiphana because he thought that Fugitive Thaksin should lead his supporters to Bangkok.

Dear Kwanchai Praiphana, you don't know Thaksin is using the people like you for his personal gain & he will never come back to Thailand because Fugitive Thaksin realize well about his corruption cases. Anyway, I really pity to Kwanchai Praiphana.

“I proposed to Thaksin that a command centre be set up in Udon Thani where red-shirts from all provinces in the Northeast to gather, and after that he must lead his supporters to Bangkok to topple the government and the bureaucrats,” Kwanchai Praiphan said.

Crazy. In most countries words like this are deemed seditious and warrant immediate arrest and imprisonment upon a conviction.

Joke of the week!!!! Sorry of the century!!! I think this man's effort to get Thaskin into Thailand shows just how misguided the Red shirts are. Maybe they should try increasing their medication. I'm off to a weekend trip to planet Mars now!

I dont think he will come because hes a coward who runs away leaving the poor to fight for him.He is too busy flying around in his jet investing in blood diamonds football teams and getting any other passport he can while trying to cause unrest here .He will never come unless he can pay someone to weasel out of all the problems he has created for himself .

Dear Thai Government and Red,Yellow Shirts & Dr Khun Thaksin

This is an open letter to you all and I ask that for the sack of the Hotels staff you all take note of this

Why dose the Thai court with the Government backing ask Dr Khun Thaksin to come back to Thailand but give his some respected and have him under House arrested like the lady in Burma

I think all Thai's would agree that Thaksin so called crimes are not that bad he needs to be luck up in a Prison sell in Bangkok famas prison

But at the same time RED, YELLOW and all color shirts must agree to stop the protested against the Government and let the counts work it out how to solve this problem

Well some think like that I do hope that some one out there who reads this will take this up
