Security tight at Cambodian embassy

Security was tightened in front of the Cambodian embassy in Bangkok on Friday morning after Thailand recalled its ambassador to Cambodia in protest against Phnom Penh's decision to appoint ousted premier Thaksin Shinawarta as an economic adviser.

The Cambodian government recalled its ambassador to Thailand in retaliation.

About 200 police have been deployed ouside the embassy. Pol Col Anat Kledmanee said 150 more police would be deployed if there there is a protest.

Police were also concerned  a third party may use the situation to create trouble, he said.
