Chuan: Hun Sen grateful to Thaksin

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen was showing his gratitude to Thaksin Shinawatra, who had earlier helped him to win the last general election, by appointing him his economic adviser, Democrat Party chief adviser Chuan Leekpai said on Friday.

"I would like to raise for observation that what is happening is a show of gratitude by Hun Sun for Thaksin and his Puea Thai and [dissolved] Thai Rak Thai parties for having helped him win the last election," he said.

Mr Chuan said the government had taken a proper retaliatory action by recalling the Thai ambassador to Phnom Penh.

You are totally wrong Mr. Chuan. Mr. Hun Sen never relied on 2nd country to win any election. Mr. Hun Sen though that Mr. Thaksin is the right person for Cambodia. What is the hot topic for Cambodia and Thailand now? boarder dispute or Thaksin's new position matter? Thai PM should take boarder dispute to international then.

without Thaksin or Preah Vihear case Hun Sen still win the election, i bet.

I tell you Mr Hun Sen never abandon his friend,colleague or his team.and if you are his friend and have problem he will support you.

I do not agree with a former PM Chuan argument.
Actually, PAD and Democrat Party inderectly helped Hun Sen to win a landslide election last year. They burned down Cambodian nationalism by claiming that the surrounding Preah Vihear area belonged to Thailand.

1904, 1907 treaty and 1962 ICJ show clearly that the Preah Vihear, including the surrounding, are located in Cambodian sovereignty.

If the PAD and Democrat Party are brave enough, they should bring the conflict to international level.

That's what Mr. Chuan said/thought. However, the word from Mr. Hun Sen didn't say that and not even close to.

Dear Mr. Chuan Leekpai, U r wrong to say that Thaksin and PTP help Sam Dech Hun Sen to win election.
Because most of cambodian people are support him. so most of them votes for him.
And Next Election they will votes for him too.
