There was no conclusion on the reshuffle and appointment of high-ranking police officers at the commission meeting, which was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban on Friday, police spokesman Pongsapat Pongcharoen said.

Names of the senior police officers were proposed at the meeting. But some members of the board opposed that there was no fairness in choosing members of the selection panel, which is in charge of proposing the names to the board, he said.

The commission was postponed from last week because Mr Suthep was sick.

Former interior minister Purachai Piemsombun was reportedly among those who opposed choosing of the selection members.

Because of the opposition, Mr Suthep decided to postpone the meeting, he said.
