Cambodian wants to maintain military ties with Thailand even if the two countries have already downgraded diplomatic relations due to conflict over the appointment of Thaksin as an economic advisor.

Army Region 2 Commander Lt Gen Veevarit Chornsamrit disclosed on Saturday that Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen had sent his deputy supreme commander Jai Dara to hold talks with him this morning.

“Hun Sen also wants the relations between local people living along the Thai-Cambodia border remains unchanged”, Lt Gen Veevarit said.

Cambodia did not want the border crossings to be closed as it would severely affect border trade of the two countries.

Lt Gen Veevarit said he told the Cambodian general that Cambodia should refrain from using strong words against Thailand as it could worsen the situation.

He insisted that the border crossings will not be shut down as Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva had clearly stated that he would use only diplomatic means to show Thailand’s disagreement with Thaksin’s appointment.

The premier had said the government would not impose any retaliation measures that could cause difficulties to Thais and Cambodians.

“But if the war really breaks out, Thailand will be the winner”.

No one will win in a war. But all will lose.

War is for a primitive era.

You guys should open your eyes to observe the world. You will see even the supper Power like the USA and its allies never won a any war (Iraq, Afganistan.....

Thailand has no ability even to deal with home grown insurgency in the south.

Cambodia is no bacon as you guys think, it is smaller but backed by so many good friends. If you guys dare you will be crushed out and defeated in an ashame way.

“ if the war really breaks out, Thailand will be the winner”. IS Non-sense at all ?!!!

"If war breaks out Thailand will be the winner". What gung-ho statement is that? We have already have more than half the Thai armed forces in the South trying to fight some ragtag insurgents for more than 4 years and the situation is not getting better. Soldiers, policemen and civilians are dying and being injured daily with no end in sight and now you want to open up a new front and expect to emerge the winner.

Please cut our the reckless talk and be realistic. Can we afford to fight on two fronts? Have the Thai armed forces ever fought and won against foreign forces. Remember the Rom Klao battle with Laos, we lost very badly.

'But if the war really breaks out, Thailand will be the winner.'

Another sign of carelessness. Underestimating your opponents is already 50% down the road to defeat.

If you think superior equipment means victory, please think again. That's just a factor. Don't forget public support, morale, motivation, and soldiers' willingness to serve.

"But if the war really breaks out, Thailand will be the winner" Now it depends on Thailand!!! If you sure that you win, there is no doubt that you shoudn't do. Mr Hun Sen already said he will follow Thailand for this game. As my view, war never bring you anything beside dead ppl & effect to countries' economies. At last, you will know how hard is it?

Both countries must repect and accept the map which accepted by International because it is the map that all countries & ppl must respect. I hope we can live in peace together with friendly relationship.
