10 die in Narathiwat flooding

Narathiwat's office of disaster prevetion and mitigation on Monday reported a total of 10 deaths from the flooding in the province.

Villagers and farmland in 13 districts there are affected by the heavy seasonal rains.

Officials said 124,335 residents were affected and 1,697 households had already been evacuated.

The water level in three major rivers -- Sungai Kolok, Sai Buri and Bang Nara -- had now fallen

A total of 27,949 relief bags, 5,620 lunch boxes and 30,920 bottles of water have been provided to affected people, the statement said.
