More than 100 MPs of the opposition Puea Thai Party, mostly from the Northeast, will go to Phnom Penh to see fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra on Friday, party MP for Chiang Mai Surapong Towichakchaikul said.

“The MPs want to meet the former premier to show him their support,” Mr Surapong said.

He said Thaksin will leave for Dubai on Saturday.

Suchart Lainamngern, MP for Lop Buri, said the MPs will travel in a group to make their intentions clear to the government. Some MPs plan to drink with their former party leader on Friday night until dawn before seeing him off to Dubai on Saturday morning, he said.

Well, it's obvious that the Puea Thai MP's are more loyal to Thaksin than Thailand.. Now we see who the represent..Thaksin and not the people..

LEMON - They already have and were told, at least in public, that he was not in the UAE. That was the last the public heard of the matter from all sides involved and it's not a well kept secret where Thaksin is most of the time.

I know our both nations are having dispute but dont let this to harm our innocences. Your MP travelling to Cambodia will not be considered illegal. Please take this idea away otherwise our nations will never meet properous. You may not have listened to what PM Hun Sen said: World relation never bans relation between country and country also party or party from difference nations and trends. Why you still be prejudice? We should be common sence before judge

It is sad to see elected MP's doing this!! Members of the parliament going to the country that is attacking their own country and provide either direct or indirect support to that country is something I never heard of. I hope all or majority of people who elected these MP's disagree with this move. In other countries, when it comes down to national interest, the party line is removed; but not in Thailand!! Very sad indeed!

Many nations do have laws on the book that prohibit politicians from conducting personal business or having secret meetings in other countries - off the top of my head the US has the Logan Act.

The purpose of these laws are indeed to prevent acts of treason and obvious conflicts of interest - but PTP and Thaksin at this point could be used as pictures in the the encyclopedia for these two concepts.

I thought it was against the law for foreigners to conduct any kind of political work while in Cambodia?

Since when did drinking till dawn metamorphose into political maneuvers?

    I envy these lot.

Ok, when is the government going to move against PTP who is now clearly working for a fugitive who is now working for a foreign government?

And they criticize Abhisit for doing nothing to help the people, while PTP has spent every day trying to get Thaksin back into power.

What about schools? Roads? Rails? The economy?

I read news that former PM Somchai and his family are now joining Thaksin having fun and giving valuable lessons to the Cambodians on how to become a supreme economics country. More Thai politicians are joining Thaksin in Cambodia to give more to the Cambodians. How about former PM Chavalit? Is Chavalit joining too. If this is the case, Cambodia being such a small country can now become a supreme country in ASEAN with the help of these smart Thai former PM and politicians. Kudos to you Cambodia.

For those MP's who are flocking to worship the BIG BOSS. Is there such a law about aiding and abiding a fugitive ? Let us put all those law breaking MP's behind bar starting with the "BIG TINY".
