Reporters flock into border checkpoint

An army of Thai and foreign reporters this morning flocked into Rong Kruea border market in Sra Kaew province to wait for Puea Thai MPs who went to see ousted former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra in Siem Reap yesterday.

The opposition MPs are scheduled to return to the eastern border province at about 11am on Saturday, after seeing Thaksin leaves Cambodia for Dubai.

Local people in Sra Keaw are concerned that the government would close Thai-Cambodia border after the diplomatic dispute between the two countries is escalating.

Secretary-general of the Association of Southeast Asia Nations (Asean) Surin Phitsuwan on Friday called on all member countries to help in settling the dispute before the Asean-US summit on Sunday.

Observer #10: "When someone take an oath to become a leader, he/she is actually taking an oath to be a servant (not master) to the people."

yes and in an ideal world money grows on trees...

Another joke if the PT supporters will not take it too seriously.

The fruit is sweet in the beginning(having meet Thaksin and have fun in Cambodia) but it will taste and turn very bitter later(the incident will forever be recorded as history). It will not only affect those PT politicians but their children where they cannot lift up their head for the irresponsible mom or dad action.

When someone take an oath to become a leader, he/she is actually taking an oath to be a servant (not master) to the people.

SENNI #5: you write "what laws are in place to make sure that Pheua Thai cannot destroy our country in this manner?"

Do you mean in the same manner the military and PAD destroy democracy?

Or is "that way" of destroying the country acceptable to you?

    # 5

There was no quorum so nothing can be done and the meeting had to be cancelled.

The question is, what laws are in place to make sure that Pheua Thai cannot destroy our country in this manner?

    Oberver

It would indeed be a joke, if it were not for the fact that all of these things are perfectly normal in Thailand.

With so many opposition MP's gone to meet a fugitive in another country why didn't the government use the time in the parliament to pass all the laws they wanted with their own votes? Like a law which makes it illegal for Thai nationals to interact or meet convicted criminals. Upon their return to the border they could have just arrested them...I am joking of course, but seriously why is it not illegal to have interactions with a convicted guy who just wants to destroy the country. At least strip the MP's of their duty since they they are obviously not interested to serve their country.

This event can be written in the Guinness Book of Record and no history will ever beat this event.
Thai politicians skip government parliament duty and went to a conflicting neighboring country to have fun, then return back to serve the country again.

How about another senario: Thai teachers skip teaching and went to karaoke and leave the students in the classroom; then they return with the look of a great teacher and back in teaching again.

It will be more hilarious to put this way: Thai policemen skip their duty and join the thieves and robbers to a drink, then return back pretending to catch the thieves and robbers again.

    Take this as a joke.

    JOHNNY #1:

You are absolutely right, these PAD/military supporting media clones (AKA reporters) are all just birds of the same feather...

But they will all come home to roost in BKK.

"Surin...........called on all memeber countries to help in settling the dispute..........."

    There is no dispute.

What you have here folks, is an insecure Govt. fabricating an external enemy and trying to foment a crisis mentality. This is an age-old ploy by all Govts. and Dictators who are insecure.

Just let them fume and fuss as if there is a problem.

It is a little like the Fox Entertainment Network in the USA trying to create the impression there is a national uprising against Obama, by inflating the activities of the ultra-right wing elements of the political spectrum.
