A bomb went off in a market in Narathiwat's Ra-ngae district on Sunday, resulting in seven injuries.
Police said a five-kilogramme ammonium nitrate bomb was contained in a steel box hidden in a black motorcycle with a fake licence plate. The motorcycle was parked in Tanyongmas market near Krung Thai Bank.
The bomb was triggered by a remote control. The blast wounded six soldiers and a villager. They were sent to Ra-ngae Hospital immediately.
Police blamed the southern separatist insurgents. More than 3600 people have been killed and thousands have been injured in the violence-plagued South since January 2004.
