Noppadon: Thaksin ready to help

Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is ready to help, if asked by the Thai government, to talk to Cambodia to ensure justice for the Thai engineer who was arrested on spy charges, Noppadon Pattama said on Monday.

Mr Noppadon, a legal adviser and close aide of Thaksin, said he had talked over this matter to the deposed prime minister who said he was ready to help if asked by the government.

However, Thaksin would only help ask Cambodia to ensure justice for Siwarak Chothpong, the suspect, and allow relatives to visit him, but would not interfere in the Cambodian justice process because doing so could be seen as meddling in that country's internal affairs, Mr Noppadon said.

Mr Noppadon also said Thaksin was not involved in the M79 attack on the People's Alliance for Democracy's rally on Sunday night and threaten to sue PAD leaders if they accused his boss of involvement.

It is so funny to hear Mr. innocent Thaksin and his close lawyer Noppadon the biggist joke as foreirn minister in Thailand.
They cannot interfere in the justice of Cambodia, but willing to help. What is laws in Cambodia, must be the corruption laws they mention. Let Mr. 1000 per cent perfect Thaksin come back to Thailand and fight in court all the graft cases waiting for him.

discussion 8: the "assistant" you're referring to. is it the business money that thai suppose to loan to Cambodia to construct road? You know that main purpose of that road is to transport THAI products into Cambodia? who's losing here? this is not free money to Cambodia. It's a "business" loan not charity money.

Alex, you are absolutely right in your observation. You see, to Thaksin, he will only trust the legal system if it serves his purpose. Sometimes I just feel sorry for Khun Abhisit. He is the one that is getting all the brunt. From deteriorating diplomatic ties with Cambodia to a black out in the house, the red shirt will ALWAYS say "Abhisit must be responsible". While Abhisit is doing his best to hold the country together, Thaksin is enjoying his golf and private jet flights around the world. And at the end of it all, Thaksin will be the hero. And yet he can talk about injustice!

How about this scenario:

Cambodian authorities find a random Thai guy in Cambodia. Give him a million cash, paid by Thaksin, and tell him to accept getting arrested for whatever reason. Either the Thai government will be forced to ask for Thaksins help, the guy is released and Thaksin is a hero, at least in the uneducated farmer minds. Or the plan does not work, and he is later released for whatever reason, and keeps the cash as compensation, so no harm has been done.

And for those of you who compare Thaksin with Clinton in North Korea, I suggest you remember that Clinton did not put up conditions such as having to be asked/begged by the US government first.
Comparing Thaksin to people like Clinton, Aung San Suukyi etc. is a disgrace and an insult to these people.

Is somebody in a silly way trying to make Dr. Thaksin look good? The B.P.?
This man without a face nobody can make look good. Not the B.P. not Noppa-doppa.

P.S. Could it not be that Mr Siwarak does not want the help of the "FUGITIVE" of justice and Noppa-doppa, that he is expecting help from the Thai government.

Thaksin and Noppadon said that they will “not interfere in the Cambodian justice process because doing so could be seen as meddling in that country's internal affairs” but “ready to help...if... “.
In case...if Thaksin should get his royal pardon now in exchange of the prisoner, then the Thai engineer will be discharged in a fraction of second!
