PT: Sonthi move admission of failure

Coup-leader Gen Sonthi Boonyaratkalin's decision to accept the leadership of the Matuphum Party just shows that the military's Sept 19, 2006 overthrow of the Thaksin government solved nothing, opposition Puea Thai Party spokesman Prompong Nopparit said on Wednesday.

"Gen Sonthi decided to enter politics because he realizes that the military coup did nothing for the betterment to the country and the democratic system. It wasted time which could have been better used for the country’s development and has led to several other crises,” Mr Prompong said.

He called on those in power in the armed forces to put a stop on any further military coups. He said the September 2006 coup should be the last time the military uses undemocratic means to come to power.

Peua Thai is done. With Jataporn literally working for the Cambodians to prosecute a fellow Thai in an obviously collaborated conspiracy, with Mr. Shinwatra in the middle, and these constant, irrelevant commentaries by PTP, they sound a lot like Saddam's Defense Minister in the closing days of the initial Iraqi Invasion.

    Jop Laew, dirtbags!

Ahh, another Puea Thai spokesman who can read alot out of nothing.

There could be a number of reasons why Gen Sonthi did what he did, but of course Puea Thai chose the one most convenient for them "Gen Sonthi decided to enter politics because he realizes that the military coup did nothing for the betterment to the country and the democratic system."

I say, don't waste time asking the man why he made his move, just claim something, tell it as the truth to the red monkeys, while feeding them a banana, and you can claim another "victory"!

Sonthi should be in jail for treason! Why in Gods name did he not become a politican in the first place and try to run the country by winning an election?

Worse if he is an elected MP and that is a very big IF, he should be neglected by anyone else. How can you allow a person like him in who has shown to give a rats ass about democracy?
