If former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra resigns or is replaced as economic adviser to the Cambodian government, the diplomatic row between Thailand and Phnom Penh will cool down, Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban said on Friday.

“This does not mean that I am asking the Cambodian government to do this. They would not do it. But I think this is the easiest way to ease tension between the two countries,” said Mr Suthep.

The deputy premier said he thought Thaksin traveled to Cambodia quite often because he wants to use the neighbouring country as his political base. It was easier to meet his political supporters there.

Mr Suthep thanksed Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Gen Tea Banh for coming forwardand denying that his government has an audio recording of Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya ordering the Thail embassy’s first secretary Kamrob Palawatwichai to obtain Thaksin's flight schedule, as claimed by Puea Thai party list MP Jatuporn Promphan.

Gen Tea Banh's rejection of the claim was made in an interview published in a Bangkok Thai-language newspaper  today.

Suthep, you don't need to worry about relationship btw Thai and Cambodia, what you need to worry is the mass demonstration at the end of this month.

Beloved Suthep... Good at speech... but not good wish... If that tension is easy to ease like this why it take more than a year still not get approved by National assembly for border talk?

Can I say you like this, Giving power back to Thai people let them vote for their prime minister then the tension will be eased? Do you afraid of People power... look funny, that less majority own government ... give up what is not yours Suthep...

Mr. Suthep and Abhisit gov't is trying to play down the situation by manipulating the root of the tension - the root of the tension is not coming from this point but it started when Preah Vihear temple is listed as world heritage, when Thai troop were sent into Cambodia soil, when Abihisit suggested to co-host the temple, when Mr. Kasit said that he wants the 3rd party to involve in solving the conflict but then refused that it was misquoted, and when Abhisit gov't claimed that the land around the temple is belong to Thailand.

Do these guys never quit. Abhisit and Suthep have to be smart enough to know that Thaksin will never quit as long as they keep attacking him and dragging him into the mix.

The sooner they realize that by not paying attention to him he will disappear on his own. If you don't water your garden it doesn't grow and these two use a lot of water and fertilizer on theirs.
