The fight was stopped on the advice of the ringside doctor at 1:42 of the 11th round, but the cut to Kessler that prompted the move came from a head-butt so the decision came down to the scorecards.

One judge scored it 97-93, while two others saw it 98-92 for Ward, who improved to 21-0 with 13 knockouts. Kessler fell to 42-2 with 32 knockouts.

I watched the fight. I picked Ward to win, but a good fighter with a good left hook, would hurt Ward. Ward kept getting away with coming in with his head down. Ward also carries his left hand too low. Never drop your head like that in a fight. In that situation, a real, fighter will take your head off. I never saw a great, fighter lead with his head. Ward got away with one. I knew Kessler had a padded record and had not been fighting quality fighters. Allowing the fight to continue was a little, disgusting. The Ref wasn't too good at his job. A blind man could see all the head-butts. Kessler has no punching-ability on the inside, or when backing up. He also has no side to side movement, or body-punching ability. If Kessler does strenght exercises and learns how to throw a liver-shot, and hook, he could become be a decent fighter.
