Govt: UAE may eject Thaksin

The United Arab Emirates would ask fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra to leave the country if he uses it as a base for attacking the Thai government, Foreign Minister Kasit Piromya's assistant Panit Vikitset said on Sunday.

"The UAE has agreed with the Thai government that if Thaksin uses the country as a base for urging people to gather in political rallies and criticising the Privy Council, he would be asked to leave immediately," Panit said.

He said the country would allow the ousted premier to stay as a businessman or a normal citizen.

The Thai government did not make a mistake when it decided to revoke Thaksin's passport since it had to follow the regulations, he said.

"If anyone causes damage to the country, the person's passport will be revoked," he said.

Responding to Thaksin's comment that he would reside in Dubai throughout his life, the Foreign Ministry had send a letter to the UAE government after the red-shirt leaders of the anti-government United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) travelled to Dubai to meet him.

"It is the responsibility of the Interpol to track Thaksin down," Panit said.

He insisted Thaksin had changed his name to 'Takki Shinegra' in his foreign passports after the name 'Thaksin Shinawatra' did not appear in the arrival lists of many countries.

Thaksin earlier posted a Twitter message, rejecting the news that he was using a new name.

"It is the responsibility of the Interpol to track Thaksin down," Panit said.

1.Thaksin hasn't committed an international crime or have any international warrants for Interpol to get involved.

2.Interpol will not arrest or even follow any person in which their crime is having anything to do with politics.

Interpol doesn't get involved in anything political.

It is good that we have Kasit & Company to focus on the real IMPORTANT issues for Thailand and its international relations. I wonder what other countries use their foreign ministries for?

In fact I believe the PM spends more time abroad than his FM. Maybe that is because he actually understands what foreigners say, and vice versa.

Dubai's credibility is going down the tubes rapidly !. They can't pay their 80 billion debts, they have thousands of ridiculous ill-conceived and empty real estate projects and, they allow convicted criminals like Toxin to stay there.

Good luck! - why not make him an economic advisor?.

It's always easy to point a finger and say it's Thaksin's fault. Eventually this government is going to have to stand up and explain to us what they are actually doing. Their vision is to deflect and reflect.

It is very ovious that the current Thai government does not want Taksin to be returned to Thailand. They no full well that if he returned to Thailand there wold be riots in the streets and there wold be massive demonstrations, protests and parades.

It is better for the current government to leave Takki in UEA or Cambodia or wherever he goes.

We all know if they wanted Takki arrested he owld have already been arrested

If the Goverment would succeed getting Taksin home , this will without doubt lead country to trobles again. His powers and popularitis are still strongly remained here.

Don't put the country on this risky bet. We have no more to lose .

Tony discussion 7: I wonder if Yellow is just the color of shirt your PAD friend is wearing if you it is your true color. I guess we will see when the boss comes home. I will make another prediction, Tony switches sides if Thaksin comes home and takes over.

Sorry, its not Kasit. Lol. Its Takki, all the way.

He just admitted to using the Reds as leverage to get his power and wealth back and avoid a jail sentence EVERY Thai knows he deserves. Why would any nation, even pretending to be legitimate, want this man in their country?

Lacking credibility and having no prestige internationally reputation this government is banking on the short memory they assume most people have : About half a year ago they spread exactly the same news. Sorry, Mr.Kasit, who you think gonna believe you ?
