Thaksin willing to help jailed engineer

  • Online news:

Fugitive former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra is willing to help the detained Thai engineer in Cambodia if the Thai government could not help him, Thaksin's legal adviser Noppadon Pattama said on Sunday.

Sivarak Chutipong, an employee of Thai-owned Cambodia Air Traffic Services, was arrested on Nov 12 on charges of leaking information concerning the flight plan of Thaksin Shinawatra as he visited Phnom Pehn.

"Thaksin is willing to ask the Cambodian court for mercy for Sivarak if he is found guilty," former foreign minister Noppadon said.

He said Thaksin is still in Dubai.

Thaksin's activities had affected the government's stability and the image of Thailand to the eyes of foreign countries was less positive, he said.

"On the idea of having a mediator for the negotiation between Thaksin and the government, Thaksin is not sure about the government's sincerity," he said.

@Mr. Thaksin: "I'm looking through you.. " (The Beatles). Nice set-up, but too obvious really.

ZHOU #26: If we were all blind men, you would not be able to say what you say.

Of course it is a political game. But that nor proves the man was, or was not "spying".

SWEDENFarang: I think only a few people actually know if he was or was not a spy. They do not train people to look like spies when they do spying. I doubt very seriously there ever was an 007 type spy and if so, the usual ones looked innocent and incapable. Just look at the man and wife couple recently arrested in the US.

But we have to define "spying" too. Maybe somebody got this guy to lift some documents, or he did it because he is a PAD supporter. Who knows? Even if somebody is not a trained, active spy, he r she can still commit an act of spying.

An ignorance is not an excuse in the eyes of the law.

Nor BTW would his release mean he had not committed an act of spying.

Rest assured though, if Taksin did manage to intervene and get his release, the anti-Taksin camp be be screaming loud that the guy was innocent all along and it was all a set-up.

What is odd is already Taksin is being blamed as having been behind this but in fact, 99% of the noise is coming from them (the anti-Taksin and anti UDD/red shirt people)

Everyone knows that this man is not "a real spy". He is a victim in a political game betwean Hun Sen and Thai Government.
He will make him free "thanks to Thaksin" to give Abhisit and his Minister a new kick in the back.
As long as Abhisit wait with a new election. More he lose during the time.

    Re: Subin Lanathai #19

Again, please provide information stating that Thaksin's flight plan was not kept confidential and a law was not violated? Quoting a lawyer's defense is not a fact.

    I agree with bystander #16.

Nick, the very problem is that so many people in Isaan WILL believe it. Visit the villages and find out what manner of ridiculous things they believe, and you'll understand.

khun Thaksin would like to use the freedom of Khun Sivarak to exchange for his 76 Billion Baht. Dubia is sinking really fast, Thaksin needs his illegal acquired 76 Billion Baht to buy a float. If the Thai government return Khun Thaksin the 76 Billion Baht, he will transfer the money to Dubia. The GDP of Thailand will drop 4% after this transaction occurred.

    What a sleazebag.

Toxin thinks that we are all a bunch of fools who believe these pathetically engineered situations that try to cast him as some kind of hero.

You can fool some people some time but you can't fool all the people all of the time.

Dubai is welcome to him. Please keep him in one of your empty condominiums.

I said in one of my posts when the arrest of the Thai national was arrested in Cambodia
that Thaksin would be involved in releasing him. It is all a setup with Cambodia being the biggest winner as deals with Thaksin are on going if the traitor comes to power in Thailand.
