Kasikorn welcomes MTP ruling

The court ruling ending the environmental impasse in Rayong’s Map Ta Phut industrial estate would help boost the country’s investment climate and investment could grow by about 9.3 per cent in 2011, Kasikorn Research Centre said on Friday.

The Administrative Court on Thursday approved the operating permits of 74 projects which were earlier suspended, revoking the permits of only two  projects and requiring they produce new environmental and health assessment reports.

The research centre believed the court’s ruling was a positive sign and it would  boost   investment by 8.1-8.8 per cent this year and about 7.5-9.3 per cent next year.
