Pongsapat quits as police spokesman

Pol Lt-Gen Pongsapat Pongcharoen has sent a letter to new police chief Pol Gen Wichean Potephosree tendering his resignation as police spokesman.
Pol Lt-Gen Pongsapat, who is currently an assistant police chief, said that a decision made last week by the police commission appoints him a police adviser for security and special affairs.
In the new position, which has yet to be made official, he will certainly have higher responsibilities.
