Reds warned on Sept 19 activities

Political groups should be careful not to break the law if they want to conduct activities to mark the fourth anniversary of the Sept 19, 2006 coup, Col Sansern Kaewkamnerd said on Wednesday.

Col Sansern said this after a meeting of the Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situation (CRES), chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban.

The spokesman said since the situation had become more stable and the economy had improved, those thinking of conducting political activities should think of possible adverse effects they might cause.

disc.4 :Shouldn't Col Sansern have said don't break the law unless you're the PAD or the armed forces, as they are obviously above the law.

Not surprised - from your comments the only country that you think Thailand should compete with is Burma. Thailand needs freedom not the suppression it has now.

It is apparent that the "Reds" activities centers around Thaksin and not about the poor..

The coup had never come as if by magic. There was a coup for a lot of reasons that Khoun Discussion 1 is pushing discretely under the carpet. For example, there were a lot of protests denouncing the abuses of power, many corruption cases, abuses of press freedom, the dubious Shin Corp shares selling to Singapore, and etc. by Thaksin BEFORE the coup!
As the checks and balances of Thailand were locked for the protection of Thakin's dictatorship, then the coup had come as a pressure valve.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Reds protest again since they never keep their words, especially Jatuporn. Weeks ago, they were quoted saying that they will never protest again since they feel sorry for those innocent Reds that died. What a shame. They never sympathize for anyone. They are only concern about money.
Now that the government has cut their flow of money, hopefully the next protest would not attract that many Reds.
Freedom to Protest should be the thing of the past. Protesters should apply for licenses if they want to protest otherwise, protesters should be arrested.
Thailand needs to move on to compete with neighboring countries and not waste time with these useless protesters.

the first people who broke the law and the constitution was the coup makers. Then they changed the most progressive constitution of South East Asia to give them back more power and amnesty themselves.

They are the people who have the real responsabilities about today's situation in Thailand, not the people who react of those events !!!
