Cambridge tops world rankings

Cambridge University has edged out Harvard to become the first non-US university to top a global ranking, according to a survey released Wednesday.

The British-based Cambridge knocked Harvard out of the top spot for the first time in the seven-year history of the QS World University Rankings released by the London consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds Limited.

The survey, which in previous years had been conducted with The Times of London, had six American and four British schools in the top 10.

The QS rankings are bogus. How can Chula be the only Thai university ranked in the world list when it lists Mahidol University in front of Chula in their Asian University rankings??

I have several Thai friends graduated from either Chula or Kaset, they are the cream of the crop in Thai education. I honestly feel their standards are up there with the graduates from top universities in Singapore, Hongkong, Taiwan, China, and Korea,

However, what Chula and Kaset lack of are "big money" for research funding and scientific equipment spending, unlike other Asian governments dumping billions into educations.

Are you/they/Thai still saying Chula is better than Kaset?

Chula engineering graduates also think they are better than US engineering graduates even though the curriculum and texts are copied from the US.

Thai licensed engineers also think they are better than the CA licensed engineers.
