Fighting on Cambodian border

Two or three Thai soldiers were wounded in an exchange of fire with Cambodian troops on Friday afternoon on the Thai-Cambodian border, and artillery rounds landed on Thai soil well inside the frontier, an informed military source said.

    This is truly sad! OMG!!!

Historically we are all connected Laos,Cambodia,Thailand and Vietnam. We should understand each other like bretheren not against another.

We all need to help each other and modernized at the same level not by killing or against each other.

We all know that Mr. Veera has a way with words one should take what he says lightly

After more-than-3-hours clash, what is Thai thinking now? Want to try it again? This is just the warning from Cambodia only.

Another thing is that Cambodia is lodging complaint to UN, so what is Thai thinking? Afraid ?

In short, please don't show off the US's weapons too much while USA govt relationship with Thai is found weaker and weaker in Asean.

I'm glad to see a very civilize discussion in this response forum. In our civilize society, we should always respect one another and also we ought to respect the international rulling that was done in 1962. With the respect to the previous King of Thailand that had agreed to return PR back to the Khmer, we (Thai & Khmer) should give respect to that decision. There is no win or lose in this issue. Because the decision has been made since 1904 and 1907. I want us all to take several steps back and think through of everything that had occured. The government did it's part by trying to avoid any unintended actions that may hurt the relationship on both side of the borders. We all don't know what had happened. We were not at the front line and didn't see who fired first and for what reason. Remember, both sides are facing each other with heavy weaponeries and it's easily can lead to something that we all may regret later. Let's join hands and build both of our nation together. The 4.6 km are in fact belongs to the Cambodian people, not it's government. We must respect the international rulling and pull all of the military from the boarder area as soon as we can. I think the Khmer government have been very patience by not taking the entire issue back to the international court.

Why not ask Mr.Chamlong and PAD of what to do next...After all, they were the ones to be blamed if something gets worsts...

Really sad to see those innocent people’s get killed especially the poor villagers staying near the border. The yellow shirt leader Maj Gen Chamlong and PAD must be happy to see that both sides are firing at each other and innocent people’s get killed. I’ve mentioned before that when war breakout only the innocent civilians will suffers and kills. The old people, children’s, ladies and the low ranking soldiers will get kills but not the politicians, the elites, the Bangkokian and the high ranking soldiers. Purely stupid. Hope both sides stop firing now.

Every Thais should know.. no poor countries ever want to fight first with richer countries. No poor countries want to invade the land of rich countries. If you are Thai, would you think that street vendors in Thailand dare to fight with rich Thais who are shopping in Siam Paragon? The Thais say they dont want Khmer land, but they prolong negotiation and they do not dare to go to international court. Very funny coz if they go to international court, they will lose. I hope many of the Thais will come to their commom sense.
