Prayuth: I've done my duty

Army chief Prayuth Chan-ocha on Wednesday said he had performed his duty to protect the monarchy by seeking legal action against three United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) leaders on lese majeste charges.

He called for army troops not to show their strength outside the barracks, saying he had already done so in the name of the army.

Gen Prayuth last week ordered the Judge Advocate General Department to file lese majeste charges with police against Jatuporn Prompan, a Puea Thai party-list MP and UDD core member, Wichian Khaokham, a Puea Thai MP for Udon Thani, and Suporn Atthawong, a former Thai Rak Thai MP for Nakhon Ratchasima.
