EC probing Samut Prakan heckling

The election committee of Samut Prakan province has been ordered to investigate the heckling of a Democrat Party campaign team by red-shirt supporters on Sunday, EC secretary-general Suthipol Taweechaikarn said on Monday.

The Democrat team led by Abhisit Vejjajiva had to call off campaigning for fear the party's own supporters would clash with the red-shirts.

Mr Suthipol said the provincial election committee was to find out if the red-shirts had acted in a threatening manner in violation of Article 53 (5) of the Election Act.

Why do politicians and their supporters have to be this harsh to those are not in their party? Heckling and killing will always be able to support their party? Why do politicians ask for the 'heads' of all people and mobilize them towards the same goal of 'Help develop our country with all resources, especially human, to sustain the green happiness the world is presently looking for?
Can we say politicians are people of a babarian homo sapiens? Politics should be ways to ensure the integral development of the whole population, not a means to acquire and accumulate 'own benefits' at the cost of others, isn't it?

D1... The dp is looking to their brothers in the EC to save the day for them, they always have in the past. DP can not win the vote as they are too unpopular....they're is a disgrace...when they can not even beat Thaksins sister it should tell you how pathetically unpopular they are. They Green shirts will have to give it back to them if the EC won't.

Hi, surely heckling, shouting slogans, holding posters is all fine were there as # domdunnn said, since democracy began. It can be any one -- students, umemployed youths.. A real leader could control these unruly crowds too..The present reaction is a part of the democrats' own making on the several incidents which transpired over the last 1-2 years, in that there has never been a timely and correct flow of information. Let the EC investigate, but let the leaders ponder and introspect the realities.

There is nothing wrong with heckling, its been a part of election campaigns since democracy began. These hecklers are demanding that Abhisit explain the deaths of 90 people last year and PMs (and all politicians)should be held accountable by voters.

What Thailand needs is more questioning of politicians not less, and if Democrat supporters respond with violence it only suggests that a raw nerve has been touched. Verbal heckling is fine, responding with violence is not.

Aunty Thida, stop wringing your hands and crying. You could stop paying the red protesters for a start.Someone buys the fuel & food for the group following AV and it sure isn't the protesters.

It is important you take some action to prevent them disrupting this Thursdays Dem rally. Even you will not be able to use the fake red excuse this time.

If you cannot control them let someone else do it. Yingluk at least has admitted she cannot she cannot control them even though the reds work for her Big Bro.

Maybe you should be pro active for once and call Dubai.

I refer to my "prophecy" under Yingluck refuses to end heckling. Once the investigation starts, all that needs to be done is to find out which bank accounts funded the Red Shirts during the demonstrations last year and if Yingluck can be connected - goodbye potential PM and PTP. You can bet that the Dems and their backers will do their utmost to make it stick, and who could blame them - alll is fair in love and politics (ops, sorry war)!

Does anyone really think the Tomato police will arrest any Red Shirts anywhere anyhow anytime? Please get real.
