Asda, Veerachai removed from JBC

Thai-Cambodian Joint Boundary Committee chairman Asda Chaiyanam and JBC adviser Veerachai Plasai are the state officials to be relieved of their posts by the Yingluck Shinawatra government.

The two were trusted by the preceding Democrat-led government in dealing with the conflict of the overlapping border near Preah Vihear temple, the Hindu ruins listed as a world heritage site.

Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul on Friday informed the cabinet of the change, made two weeks ago.

Mr Asda, former Thai ambassador to the United Nations, is being replaced by Bandit Sotthiphalarit, a former ambassador to many countries, while Mr Veerachai, Thailand's ambassador to the Hague in the Netherlands, and JBC adviser Chatri Archjananun, chief of Foreign Ministry’s Legal Affairs Division, will be succeeded by Prasat Prasatwinitchai, Thai ambassador in Manila,  and Natthawut Phothisaro, Thai ambassador in Tel Aviv.

@Disc 1 - This team will not fail, TRT and PTP never fails with Hun Sen. Hun Sen was only giving a hard time to the DEMs on purpose.

The fugitive's government is bending backwards to please Hun Sen, making it clear that all future relations are to the benefit of the two 'eternal friends' only and not for the best of our nation.

Really, when i see how they put bad Thailand since 2006, it is not necessary to restructure everything in this country... It's vital. And, excuse me, if the few yellow/pro-dems are not ok with that, it means that it's more than good.

"Opposition Leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said the government has a right to restructure"

Flip flop again. He was last heard to oppose any changes to his hand pick team, and ask they to to go court, if forced to move to other position.

If this team failed, it should be replaced.

More so, when they are perceived to be reporting to the previous installed government.
