Noppadon: Thaksin is in Hong Kong

Former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra would not join the friendly football match between the red-shirts team and Cambodian team this afternoon as he is now in Hong Kong, Thaksin’s legal advisor Noppadon Pattama said on Saturday.

Asked about reports that Thaksin had, via the Skype internet conference, given order to cabinet ministers of the Pheu Thai Party the other day, Mr Noppadon said Thaksin had just provided his advice as usual.

This is because the ex-prime minister wanted to raise living standards of people and to increase their income through the 300 baht daily minimum wage policy. No order was made at the meeting as claimed by the Democrats, he added.

@Disc 10 - Are you serious with your comments? Maybe people in the North are so brainwashed by red propaganda, they have no idea the luxury Thaksin is living in. Or maybe you haven't noticed Thakins multimillion dollar mansion in China. Million dollar HK apartment. Yea, he's in prison. Didn't know he could go shopping at LV store with his daughter in prison.

In the field of tourism, "He's in Hong Kong" equates to "He's in Shopping Paradise" !

In the north the phrase "He's in Hong Kong" equates to "he's in Prison".

'Noppadon...the ex-prime minister wanted to raise living standards of people..'

The 46 billion baht Thaksin evaded paying tax on by changing the Constitution could have helped many people e.g scholarships for poor but bright kids deprived of opportunity to reach their potential.

@android. Thaksin has always been able to travel to HK. Please tell other countries that allow him entry having decided he is an honest, modest, nice democracy type of guy really.

Referring to D#3, I don't think your country is any better. Your country is being run by a dictator who happens to be a good friend of the Skype guy. At least in Thailand, people can speak out their opinion.

Once again Thaksin avoids meeting the red shirts. Remember his 'I do not know them'. They served their purpose and now he wants to distance himself from their violence and arson.

Thaksin is again free to travel in Hong Kong. It seems that more and more countries recognized that Thaksin's conviction by the Supreme Court in 2008 is simply a politically motivated persecution. Very disappointing to the DEMs.

Actually Khun Noppadon, the information leak was a PTP source. No one mentioned Democrats.

You have to give TS some credit , they had the PR plan sorted last week as the news he was not going to play football was leaked last Wednesday yet 1000 reds were still paid to go there to make the crowd look good and PTP MPs still sucked up money needed for flood relief to pay for their 5 star benefits.
