Udon Thani alert for Haitang

Local authorities in northeastern Udon Thani province are on full alert for fresh flooding as tropical storm Haitang bears down on Thailand.

Jeerasak Khamronthitisorn, chief of Muang district, said parts of Udon Thani province might be hit by heavy downpours triggered to tropical storm Haitang, which is now to the Northeast. He has already told local residents to brace for a possible third round of flooding. All relevant agencies have also been on full alert to cope with the flooding.

At present, flood waters in  Muang district were receding, said the district chief. All roads, but one leading to tambon Khamin and tambon Nakha, are passable to vehicles.
