The government has no plan at this stage to allow construction of Thailand's first legal casino, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Wednesday.

Ms Yingluck was commenting on press reports that the Government Lottery Office (GLO) had submitted a proposal for the setting up of a casino in Thailand for the government to consider.

Of course the government not keen on allowing casinos to open in Thailand, because PT, former TRT and the military already opened casinos in neighbouring Myanmar and Cambodia.

Dear PM we would like to believe you but sorry khup someone -maybe you- approved the trip to Macau by K. Wanchai. He organized it with invitations to certain journalists who had the opportunity to visit various entertainment venues, no doubt all expenses paid by taxpayers.

The purpose of taking journalists would be to get some positive press about something-right khup.

So you see , all this shows a certain amount of pre planning going back at least 2 or more weeks and guess who was very close by when K Wanchai was in Macau. Thats right -Big Bro-what a surprise.

So you see Dear Pm even though you are sugary sweet somehow this looks like another big porky

The three great addictions - alcohol, tobacco and gambling. Some governments tax the crap out of all three along with essentials like gasoline, food and just about everything except the air that you breathe, but I suppose, if they said it was good, clean air because of government policies, they would tax air as well.

Give "...the girl" a chance? Like it or not, she's the PM and she's far from a girl.

No, the was never any morals in Thailand from the start. What difference does it make? We have prostitution, we have drugs, we have tax evasion, deforestation, all under the blind eye of any Thai government. Why stop here?

Mr Wanchai said Thailand should get involved in this business because the government could generate revenue from it.

okay, then we can legalize prostitution. child pornography. human traffick. drug running. illegal timber felling. weapon sale. human organ sales. sure the government can make money from all thing.

does that mean it is OK to do it?

what happened to us we have no morels left only money is important?

Just as a thought:- if Dr T. was in favour of Casino's and liscenses were bought from the Government during that time (on the quiet), who would have one?

Gee why to I get the feeling that some family somewhere has probably been busy buying up land in the last few years to lease back to the Government for a project such as this? I would not be surprised if they also have a construction company that could provide construction services as well as a management company that could manage such businesses. Of course they would not be profitable for some time.Or should I say for all time. What a cash cow. Bugsy Siegel would be proud.

I like your comment mrsheen! hahaha I think Thailand should re-think about their policy on casino, while majority of people go to the nearest casino for their bet, which would creates corruption among the authority. To licene out a casino will stop this dark side of corruption at the same time it will give government some revenue and easy to control.
