Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on Wednesday afternoon left for a one day official visit to Burma, reports said.
Ms Yingluck said before her departure that the purpoose of the trip is to introduce herself and to strengthen ties between the two countries, the reports said.
The prime minister would meet Burma's president, Gen Teng Seng, to discuss ways to promote trade and investment and how Thailand can assist the neighbour in its development projects. Suppression of drug trafficking along the Thai-Burmese border will also be tabled for discussion, the reports said.
