France advance as Wales bemoan skipper's red card

France became the first team to make it through to this year's World Cup final but only after just doing enough to see off 14 man Wales 9-8 in a match where Welsh skipper Sam Warburton was sensationally sent off.

France advanced to the World Cup final with a narrow 9-8 win at Eden Park here on Saturday over a Wales team reduced to 14 men after the sending off of captain Sam Warburton with 60 minutes of the game left.

Wales were left stunned by the decision of Irish referee Alain Rolland to show a 19th-minute red card to Warburton for a tackle on Vincent Clerc that finished with the France wing hitting the Eden Park turf head-first here Saturday.
