Saw tis story about "neighbouring residents" desroying dykes because they thought they would get all the problems, to save the other side. SAD. I thought, after living here for 16 years, I would not see some of the things we get in the Western Countries. But it is in the more affluent Thai society now that "I want, don't bother about other's, etc." is the norm. Another example of this selfishness is the parking of "their precious motors" on the expressways & incoveniencing others. Greed & materialism! At least where I am ( Nong Chok ) we have organised, chipped in money (who can) & fought to to keep our village safe. Employ's the poorer sector & the more well off benefit. TRUE THAI'S.
