I am amazed, to read over and over again "evacuate to safe areas ...", leaving it up to everybody, to figures out, where these "safe areas" then might be ... FYI: here, near Bang Yai (N: 13° 49' 43'' - E: 100° 23' 35'') Water stands at one meter, currently stable)

Everyone should evacuate to Siam Paragon. Movies, popcorn and drinks will be provided for free.

The enormous shopping malls are perfect for sheltering people. But their mega-rich owners would never offer such hospitality to people, they'd let the people drown before letting them take shelter in their huge glass and marble hallways.

I think it can be safely said that the floods are a 'disaster' already.

The info is still coming through thin & slow, but at least something. We live in a City of about 10M. We all can't evacuate ( to where? ). The Authorities should be clear on their instructions. If an area is going to be flooded up to 2M, then advise those with 2 storey house to move as many things to 2nd floor as they can. Do not panik these people to evacuate. Those with single floor houses, yes follow Gov's instructions. GET OUT ASAP. Try to save your cars without inconveniencing others ( don't block roads ). We all probably have some problem, but let the less fortunate get the first benefit of aid (shelter). We may all need help with food & water though, and Thai Gov. must do their best to help. Not a disaster yet, but if not organised, will be.
