More flood aid from Japan, China

China and Japan have offered further help for flood victims in Thailand, offering boats and money to buy flood relief supplies, Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul said on Wednesday.

Beijing will donate 500 motor boats, each capable of carrying between four and 12 people, for use in flooded areas.

The Japanese embassy has informed the Foreign Affairs Ministry it will allocate another one billion yen (about 380 million baht) to buy needed items to support the flood response operations.

I hope China and Japan refuse take 'no' for an answer or wait around for a 'yes' from officials who think Thailand doesn't need help from overseas countries. And these countries will do well to keep their money as it will only end up in the wrong hands. Send supplies, keep your money!
