Situation 'will be better soon'

GIS expert Dr Anond Snidvongs in a live NBT telecast noted that Khlong Samwa opening affects BMA canals raising the water level 3-10 cm.

All water sluice gates must be systematically managed to control the waterflow. Each canal has different rate of drainage. The level of opening of each sluice gate must be flexible to be able to manage waterflow efficiently.

Water leaking into Bangkok comes from two sources: Lak Hok barrier leak and Khlong Samwa.

What is with the angst against Bangkok coming from every direction.

There are 12ml people in the city and surrounds all dependent on interconnected commerce.

D1 Ronald talks about 80,000 losing work in the MinBuri floods as if they are in another country. I live in BKK and work in Samut Prakan. Am I an evil Bangkokian that should suffer or a poor "Samut Prakanian " who should be spared.

The GIS "expert" writes the country does not belong to "Bangkokians" as if they are not Thai.

We all know where this spin came from but the term has gone viral now and "Bangkokians" are now the bad guys. What utter nonsense to say just because somewhere else suffered so should Bangkok.

And don't you wonder where Anond lives? All of these experts advocating flooding of everybody's home outside of inner Bangkok should also indicate whether they live in a flooded zone or the protected zone.

Dr Anond concluded by saying that the country needs important areas dry to manage the country economically and socially. These important areas do not belong only to Bangkokians but the whole country.
Agree Dr. I am in the next area that floods ( Min Buri-Nong Chock ). Our village has prepared as well as possible ( mainly contibutions from those who can afford the money & others who sacrifice their time & labour ). Let it flood my area, then the next & the next, until it is drained out to the sea. If this floods Bangkok City Centre, so be it. If we don't follow this, Bangkok & surrounding it, will be paralysed until the end of 2011. BTW, if we get flooded, Bang Chan & Lat Krabang Industrial Estates will too. Another 80,000 out of work.
