Ulit Makmaitri, Metropolitan Waterworks Authority assistant governor, told TV news that earlier tonight, ill-intentioned residents covertly destroyed sandbag dyke on Don Mueang side at 17 points about 1 metre breach for each spot.

Mr Ulit begged for understanding from the local residents that destroying the dyke would worsen tap water quality and quantity as the WMA has to lower production to make sure the water is up to WHO standard.

Really ? Given its importance and previous deliberate damage surely it should have been guarded around the clock ?

@Bula. Preferably not by the army. What are the police doing, what are they for or are they complicit in this action like the siege last year?

To send in the police is useless..... this we all know.
Use the military to take these anarchists to a remote prison for years as they obviously do not want to live in a normal society.
And show the whole thing on TV as a warning to others.
Hmmm wishful thinking as our PM do not dare to treat them like that..it could be her voters.

I will try again. The people have spoken. What is so important about Bangkok. Is it because we are in Thailand and Bangkok is in the traditional centre of the Thai people. Therefore the ruling classes do believe that Thai is a superior race to Issan, Lanna and many others. The Thais used very clever political methods of taking control of the surrounding ethnic groups. Is it continuing today?

Bangkok going underwater is just like the global financial system failing. A system that is unsustainable will be brought back to realistic frame of mind and remodelled. Unfortunately most believe in fiat currencies be it monetary or cultural.

Put guards on the dykes, arm them. If anyone tries to destroy the dyke, shoot them in the foot.
This crooks have to learn what law enforcement means... they never did.

Spare a little compassion for Yingluk.

To have the police ignore her orders the same week she appointed her Brother in Law as their Chief tells us her days are numbered.

I think Thaksin will push Sudarat into the top job as soon as her 5 year ban is up.

We the people who live next door. We are the ones you can feel through floor. we have the power although we are weak. We are brave in our silence but to scared to speak. We will carry the impossible load while our leaders weep like children on the side of the road.

Actually what does Bangkok actually produce? Marketers, lawyers, politicians, lots of people pushing paper around in an unsustainable idea of happiness.

thai black ops( seems reasonable when the government is tellig you were sacrificing YOU for the saftey of all bangkok.when with a sincere plan when this govermet ws elected to protect all thais instead of waistig energy getting you know who back in country freee of chriminal charged.
