Bomb suspect identified

The man who was arrested early this morning and accused of placing a total of six home-made bombs at three spots in Lat Krabang area has denied any connection with the bombs found in front of the Government Lottery Office (GLO) on Ratchadamnern road on Dec 6.
He was identified as Jirawat Chanpeng, a native of Sakon Nakhon province. He was was arrested at the mouth of Soi Kanchanapisek 39 this morning.
Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yubamrung gave the details at a press conference at the Metropolitan Police headquarters in the presence of Pol Gen Priewpan Damapong, the police chief, and Pol Lt-Gen Winai Thongsong, the Metropolitan Police chief.
