B5bn for home-repair loans

The Finance Ministry plans to reserve funds from the 20 billion baht first-home scheme to fund a home repair loan programme for flood victims with zero interest for the first three years.

The ministry will submit the proposal to the cabinet on Tuesday, Deputy Finance Minister Wirun Techapaiboon said on Friday.

About 5 billion baht will be reserved from the 20 billion baht budget for first home owners, he said.

Loans for home owners who suffered serious damage due to the government agencies incompetence?
A lukewarm reception is probably mildly put.
Meanwhile, people who can afford buying a house worth 5 million + can look forward to enjoy a sizable reduction in their taxes.
I wonder if this is the sort of wealth distribution, equality and fairness the Isaan reds were hoping for when the sold their votes to Shin Corp. ?
