A Thai-Lao General Border Committee (GBC) meeting and cooperation in development of the Emerald Triangle will be among the issues for discussion during his official visit to Laos, Defence Minister Yutthasak Sasiprapa said before leaving for Vientiane on Thursday.
Gen Yutthasak was speaking at Suvarnabhumi airport before his departure. He was invited by the Lao prime minister. He was accompanied in the trip by Gen Sathien Permthong-in, the permanent secretary for defence.
The visit is aimed at tightening the relations between the armed forces and defence ministries of the two countries, he said.
