Four killed in passenger van crash

A passenger van ran into the back of a pickup truck in Suphan Buri on Friday morning, killing four people, including a nine-month-old girl and a 10-year-old boy, police said.

Seventeen people were injured from the crash and were taken to Uthong Hospital. One of the them, a nine-month-old girl, died later in the hospital.

Two of the injured passengers were later transferred to Chao Phaya Yommarat Hospital for surgery.

Uthong police officer Natthanan Somwong said the Bangkok-Dan Chang passenger van slammed into the back of a pickup truck on Uthong road in Suphan Buri province.

The passenger van overturned and plunged into a five-metre canal beside the road.

However, the 39-year-old van driver told the police that he had to move into the left lane as he approached an intersection because a car in front of him was indicating it would turn right.

He said the pickup, travelling at high speed, ran into the side of the van as he turned into the left lane.

Why do they not make speed ristrictors on mini buses or IVMS in vieckle monitoring system that the company can access or the transport police can access to enforce slower driving.

When will the mini bus madness end?
How many have to die before something is done about it?

Is there an increase or is it just reported more now?

Speeding, just to get there 2 minutes sooner............
