Red-shirt people in the Northeast are paying no attention to the move for constitutional amendment because they want the government to settle economic problems and rebuild the country, Kwanchai Praipana, chairman of Kon Rak Udon group said on Thursday.
If the charter change process is completed, there would be the dissolution of House of Representatives to allow a general election and this would mean the Pheu Thai-led government would be in office for only two years, not four years as it should be, said Mr Kwanchai.
He said if the government focuses on rewriting the highest law or making changes to the lese majeste law, it will have no time to work on settling the problems besetting the country.
