Supoj defence needs time

Supoj Saplom wants 30 more days to prepare his defence against charges of being unusually wealthy and corrupt pratices, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) said on Friday.

The permanent secretary for the transport ministry, now on temporary duties in the Prime Minister's Office, acknowledged the NACC charges on Jan 23 and was given 15 days to defend himself, a period that will expire on Tuesday.

However, Mr Supoj informed the anti-graft agency through his lawyer today that he would need another 30 days to provide further information about the case, said Preecha Lertkamolmart, an NACC sub-committee member investigating the case.

Mr Supoj said he was collecting historical transaction records from several commercial banks, which was a time-consuming process.

Mr Supoj has no receipts for the money in his possession?

"Mr Supoj said he was collecting historical transaction records from several commercial banks, which was a time-consuming process. "

Yeah, it might take a day for an ordinary citizen - more like an hour for a big shot. This is just another ploy and should not listened to.

Amazing! Internet banking is nothing new! statements can be printed off in seconds. Even with the slow speeds in Thailand 30 days should be more than enough! I think he could have something to hide, however he could have been playing Monopoly and it's all a huge mistake.

This is a farce, He has already comeout with many stories, excuses. What next? How many more stories or excuses will he come out with now. He has more than enough time. If it was any ordinary man from the street, they would not wait. He has had the dates so if he has nothing to hide he should attend. Why does he need time to prepare anything at all if he is innocent?

A request for more time after months has passed is just a legal smokescreen to see if he can find enough powerful allies to spring him from a guaranteed jail sentence. The people are getting smarter and these poor excuses are no longer going unquestioned
