Hundreds of inmates rioted in a section of Trang prison on Monday morning, demanding the transfer of a warder they claimed was too strict and harsh on them, reports said.
The reports said 673 inmates of zone 2 burned sleeping gear and threw bricks and other objects in the protest against Subin Thanakasemsap, the warder in charge of the zone.
They demanded to meet and negotiate with governor Seni Chitkasem for the transfer of Mr Subin.
