49 districts drought affected areas

A total of 49 districts in seven provinces have been declared drought areas, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department reported on Tuesday.

The provinces are Kampaengphet, Lampun, Sukhothai, Loei, Chanthaburi, Chachoengsao and Petchburi,  the department announced.

The department said since Feb 2, 33 provinces had been declared cold spell disaster areas, affecting people in 125,689 villages.

    in another article today that had more of his statement included,he stated that the drought affected areas are affected every year because they are outside of the canal areas and they have a committee to look into improving those areas

    If Thailand could get itself together, the excess water that flooded BKK could be diverted in canals to the areas hit by drought, but I guess for the politicians this is beyond their capabilities.
