The Nitirat group of lecturers should cease their efforts to get Article 112 of the Criminal Code, the lese majeste law, amended because they cannot succeed, navy chief Surasak Roonruangwong said on Tuesday.
Adm Surasak was responding to questions about the campaign being conducted by the Nitirat group while he was inspecting the Mekong peace-keeping operation unit in Chiang Rai.
"I think every armed force is following this group's activities to see if it will affect national security. I agree with the majority of people that the campaign serves no purpose at all," he said.
