Jatuporn:Thida likely UDD chair

Tida Tawornseth, the acting chair of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship, is likely to be elected to the full position on Wednesday, UDD core member Jatuporn Prompan said on Sunday.

Mr Jatuporn, a Pheu Thai party-list MP, dismissed speculation that many groups of UDD members are not satisfied with Ms Tida's performance as acting chair.

He said Ms Tida was likely to be elected as chairwoman of the UDD at a meeting at the Imperial Department Store at Lat Phrao on Wednesday after having served as acting chair since May 19, 2010 when the red shirts called of their protest at Ratchaprasong intersection.

Jatuporn says there will be a coup "in a couple of months" and so he is having a gathering to protest against it.

Could it be, instead, that Jatuporn is feeling less important these days. After all, the PT are in power. No need for a UDD. Unless, of course, you start a rumour about a coup. Khun Jatuporn you are so obvious it is laughable.

He said Thida will be elected, so its a done deal, no election ,no opponents , no voting. UDD democracy at work again.

What I do not get is Jatu's denials that Thaksin is the red leader when Thaksin said he is.

The UDD has no function as PT is already in power. I guess someone forgot to tell them .
