Big drug bust in Chiang Rai

Police on Tuesday morning seized nearly two million methamphetamine pills and 40 kilogrammes of "ice" and arrested one suspect on a charge of possessing an illegal drug in Phaya Mengrai district of Chiang Rai.

Pol Col Doi Wongphum, chief of Phaya Mengrai police station, said he received a report from an undercover   agent that the dugs would be delivered to clients through a remote area of Phaya Mengrai district this morning.

He led police force to patrol on foot at Ban Huay Nam Lad in tambon Mae Pao and found a group of drug-traffickers.

Was a scapegoat "arrested" while others were allowed to walk home, or is the entire story made up?

Could it be that these drugs were confiscated earlier, elsewhere and - of course never destroyed - serve to present / pretend other big catches?
Yes, I admit, my confidence in the police and their PR is slightly limited. Guess why.

Why is it never the masterminds behind these drug movements that are arrested, or identified? Surely these curriers know who they are working for with a haul of this size.

They received the drugs from someone inside Thailand after they had been smuggled across the border. These people weren't the smugglers. They were on their way to deliver them to someone too.

With the death penalty hanging over their head they surely must be willing to talk. This brings into question why certain individuals want the death penalty process speeded up for those involved with the transport of drugs. Why restrict their human rights unless there were ulterior motives.

Yet again an unprofessional action. A GROUP of drug traffickers is found and al but one can escape / are allowed to flee.

Needless to say that there will be NO consequences for the "police" officers involved. After all, TIT.
