'Malaysia's government and police have been tight-lipped about the case so far, citing an ongoing investigation'.
That's dsomething you would never read about the Thai authorities, who just love to spout off and often make themselves look like idiots.

med142 - 'It is said...' isn't really enough for Malaysia to justify spending millions on security for Thailand's internal issue.
The border to Malaysia is as porous as those to Burma, Cambodia and Laos - it is long and winds through difficult terrain (I used to live 30km away from it). If the US can't prevent hundreds of thousands of Mexicans crossing its border, why do you think Malaysia could?

Can i then ask what is the malaysian government doing about the problems in south Thailand?
The border there seems to bo so lax. This is just peacemeal activity by the government there,
the bombings, shootings fuel imports etc. It is said that some of this is coming from people, from across the malaysian border. Drugs also.

Compliments to the Malaysian "finest" for their swift action.
