Man kills 5, wounds 1 in Sa Kaeo

A man shot a male nurse dead at a hospital in Wang Nam Yen district of Sa Kaeo province early Thursday morning before breaking into a karaoke bar neaby and opening fire, killing four more people and seriously wounding another.

Pol Sub-Lt Meksith Lekthum, a duty officer at Khao Chakan police station, said he was notified of a shooting at the Wang Nam Yen hospital about 1.25am.

According to eyewitness accounts, the man, identified later as Veera Waochangreed, 26, took his girlfriend, Wassana Thepthian, to the hospital for treatment after she had been physically attacked.
