School burnt down in Ubon

More than 100 pupils have been left without classrooms after their school at Ban Kaem Ling in tambon Non Sawang in Kut Khao Pun district of Ubon Ratchathani province was completely destroyed by a fire overnight, reports said.

The school was a two-storey building with seven classrooms, a teachers' living room, an administration room, a computer room and a kitchen. The initial damage was put at 2 million baht.

Pol Capt Thirachet Tornoi of Kut Khao Pun police station said traces of diesel fuel were found near the building, raising suspicions that the blaze might have been started by an arsonist.

D-1 Sorry, but you are wrong. Diesel burns quite well at ambient pressure if soaked into dry grass, paper, or other such. It burns very well if mixed with a small percentage of gasoline.
D-2 It's true and if that is the actual value, it highlights the low priority given to education and the students who are the future of Thailand.

Perhaps the good Policeman does not understand that Diesel Fuel does not burn except under extreme pressure.

Only a skilled forensic team could establish the cause and even then provided the Police had not trampled over the scene with the risk of destroying any evidence.

Pretty tough on the Children and Teachers who will have to find temporary educational facilities.
