Dems slam proxy-vote claim

The Democrat Party has threatened to sue a Pheu Thai MP if he fails to prove his allegation that opposition leader Abhisit Vejjajiva asked a colleague to vote on his behalf during a House meeting on March 14.

Pracha Prasopdee, who represents Samut Prakan, claimed on Thursday that he had evidence including meeting minutes, photos and video footage, to back his claim.

He said Mr Abhisit was absent when members of the House of Representatives voted on an amendment to the Land Transport Act. However, the Democrat leader's name appeared after a quorum count had been called and MPs had cast their votes.

to#13 Bula, you have to much imagination or you like to distord the facts...
"Pracha Prasopdee claimed on Thursday that he had evidence including meeting minutes, photos and video footage, to back his claim" Pracha never made a question, so why Abhisit have to reply him. Pracha made only a rumour and DEM give him ultimatum to probe his claim/rumour or they will sue him. So where do you see something wrong, Bula? I know you are too much red/PTP sided (as Peterd)and this make you blind....

D4 peterd. Some say AV will go down in history as the man who prevented widespread bloodshed.

It is Pracha who made an accusation against AV. It is AV to rebut Pracha and not by a third party DEM MP. It is a story of an eunuch trying hard to protect his master under attack.

ID cards are required to vote -- so if AV voted and he was not present -- it means he had to give it to someone right? The person asking someone to vote for them is just as guilty as the person voting. So the who voted is not necessarily that important other than it is likely another Dem. So that means absentee balloting was done by both major parties.... Say it ain't so!!!! I would have never thought that honest upstanding parliamentarians would be corrupt.

bikeme #3 - Prachathipat can go ahead suing Preecha. It is silly to demand evidence from Preecha and threaten law suit at the same time. Instead Prachathipat should demand the remark be withdrawn or face law suit. Prachathipat has history of buying witness to give false witness (eg. election fault case). Preecha has to be careful on this.

lancelot #2 - This article is on the Prachathipat demanding evident on what Preecha has said. Did I attend this House meeting on March 14? No. I was quoting what Preecha said. AV has to answer Preecha's question - Were you present at the meeting during the casting of vote? Simple answer , yes or no.

As usual you all miss the point here, that being that we have a parliament of petty politicians slapping lawsuits on each other and counter accusations when in fact they should all be answering to the public about these serious allegations. One wonders what both sides are trying to hide by threatening defamation....

englishbob #8 - I am seriously serious? Prachathipat could ask Preecha to withdraw remark or face defamation law suit. Prachathipat's demand is arrogant. Producing evidence on such situation risk evidence being destroyed. I never say evidence will not be given. It will be given to the relevant authorities. You have to read my posting again. I never believe your comments.

RE: D6 John...I think you are correct....and it is indeed unusual not to hear from Abhisit himself as he was the accused but only from a party mouth piece.

You compare AV to Charles Taylor? All I can say is, SICK!
