NACC asked to probe PM, cabinet

A Democrat Party MP has petitioned the National Anti-Corruption Commission to investigate Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra and the entire cabinet over the compensation payments for victims of political violence.

Sathit Pitutecha, who represents Rayong province, said on Monday his petition was received by NACC secretary-general Apinan Issarangkura na Ayutthaya. The NACC is now considering whether to accept the case for consideration.

The MP said he had argued that cabinet meetings on Jan 10 and March 16 passed a resolution to pay compensation for victims of political violence between 2005-2010 as proposed by Ms Yingluck and Deputy Prime Minister Yongyuth Wichaidit, chairman of the committee for coordination and the follow-up of recommendations by the Truth for Reconciliation Commission.

Mister #2, bluekkk, you must learn that the "street fighters" you talk made the democracy -the true- everywhere in the world, fighting against ugly systems sending the soldiers to protect their power. Some can dream to more bullets in the protesters to conserve their privileges, i can assure that they will lost them, tomorrow or after tomorrow... And it's good for the civilized world.

DEMs know well that the constitution court would definitely turn down their petition against the compensation scheme's legality. So the DEMs had to downgrade their strategy to attack the PT-led government....i.e. by asking NACC to probe PM and the cabinet.

Its a lot of money and the circumstances of those claiming compensation for state sponsored violence is controversial, I'm glad we have an opposition that raises these issues, this govt should be shamed for repaying people for being trouble makers, if anything it sends out the wrong message to the PAD who will become another thorn in their side. It will come back to haunt them.

Do these people have anything good to do for the country other than search for witchhunts day in and day out. Is this what they were elected to do, or work for the betterment of the country and it's citizens. Looks like they should be the ones under investigation for attempting to take away money from deceased persons. Shameful

In the land of Shinawatras we do not need any laws. Any instructions coming from Dubai must be obeyed or he will send his redshirt mob at you.

When will someone petition the prosecutors about the blatant negligence of duty of almost all PThaksin politicians who constantly visit and support a wanted criminal?
When will someone prosecute Thaksin (and others) for meddling in politics while he was banned from politics for 5 years? These are all so very obvious violations of the laws but it seems like nobody cares at all.

Absolutely right; a government that financially rewards its street fighters is simply scandalous!
